MP9

The MP9 is a machinepistol produced by Brügger and Thomet. It is chambered for 9x19 and has a barrel length of 150mm (5,905 inch).

Variants

The weapon is offered as two different variants in EFT. The MP9 and MP9-N have a different lower receiver which defines the base weapon.

• MP9
  Base variant, featuring semi-automatic and automatic firemodes (900 RPM).

• MP9-N
  This variant differs in two main features. It has a higher rate of fire (1100 RPM) and comes fitted with foregrip that can not be changed.

MP9 ammo

The 9x19 is a standard pistol and SMG caliber for various weapons in EFT. Its advantages are good damage due to the large bullet diameter and relatively low recoil impulse, which makes it suitable for firing from pistols with moderate recoil 

The ammo selection offers 6 different types. The PST and AP 6.3 are the armor-piercing solutions of the 9x19 selection and then the PSO and CCI offer gradual reduction in penetration in exchange for more damage. The RIP trades most of its armor penetration for damage. 

The numbers 13 and 20 are significant for armor penetration. As these are the limits of that armor classes 2 and 3 can withstand. The CCI is slightly below a guaranteed penetration for class 2 armor. And the PST is below class 3 penetration. The AP 6.3 reaches beyond the 21 penetration required for class 3 armor.

MP9 Shooting

Its weight of 1.4kg puts the weapon between larger SMGs and pistols in recoil management. The very compact size and high ergonomics ensure fast ADS. Semi-auto fire offers average accuracy, fully automatic fire remains controllable with the high ROF.

MP9-N | MP9

MP9 Modding

The MP9 remains midfield modding-capable. The suppressor variants are restricted one  manufacturer-produced device. The inability to mount custom ironsights is limiting along with the MP9-N version fitting one foregrip.

 

Various tactical purposes of the MP9:

• All-Purpose Submachinegun
  As an all-purpose SMG, the MP9 does not have the same tactical potential as a full-sized SMG. MP-5 or Vityaz operators can put more shots on target in a shorter time at longer distances. However in close quarters, the MP9 outperforms all other 9x19 systems in ROF.

• Covert Ops
  The B&T suppressor gives the weapon stealth combat capabilities at the expense of weapon portability.

MP9 Summary

As a machine-pistol it fills the tactical applications between  SMGs and automatic pistols. The compact size and light weight make it ideal for room-to-room combat, giving it an edge in tight spaces with a lower chance of the weapon bumping into doorframes. On full-auto, the two variants (990/1100 RPM) can quickly establish fire superiority. On semi-auto, the weapon remains reasonably accurate to up to 100 meters.

Its natural enemies are full-sized SMGs that can lay down more precise fire as consierably heavier weapons.





Accuracy 8/10
With an accuracy of 0.21 the MP9 has average accuracy for a 9x19 SMG.

Recoil 6/10
The low mass of the MP9 for an SMG, leads to 20-30% more recoil than a full-sized SMG. On fully-automatic fire, the 9x19 caliber remains reasonably controllable for its fire rates.

Ammo 3/10
9x19 offers good damage and limited penetration.

Weapon-specific Modding 4/10
Four magazine sizes, no options for custom ironsight and the capability to fit one weapon-specific suppressor limit the capabilities. Upper receivers between the two variants are interchangeable.

General Modding 4/10
Base configuration offers a picatinny rail on the receiver top. The base variant allows for installation of custom foregrips.
