MP7

The MP7 is a PDW (Personal Defence Weapon), produced since 2001 by Heckler & Koch. It provides an armor-piercing weapon system in a compact frame with the capabilities of an assault rifle. The PDW designation means it has the purpose of combining the portability of a submachinegun with the armor-piercing capability of an assault rifle.

MP7 variants

The stats for the variants are identical.

MP7A1

MP7A2

Note: The MP7A1 with the pre-installed fore-grip has no recoil advantage over the MP7A2 without a fore-grip. This could be a bug.

 MP7 Base Configuration

Shooting the MP7

The MP7 shoots a very small high-velocity round that was designed for armor-piercing purpose. As a result, the weapon has very light recoil, even with its very light mass of little over 2.3 kg.
Full-auto fire is controllable. The staggering 950 RPM firerate provides the capability to screen a target with armor-piercing rounds that would wear down the heaviest of armors.

MP7 ammo

The 4.6x30 is an armor-piercing cartridge developed for providing armor-piercing firepower in a compact weapon systems. The intention is to equip vehicle crews with self-defense firepower in a military combat situation. The ammo has very good armor-piercing capabilities, its limits are the low damage output accredited to the small diameter of the round.

In EFT the performance of this ammo matches closely to the 5.45x39 and 5.56x45 ammo. With less damage. Similar to the 5.6x28, this ammo fills the gap between submachineguns and assault rifles.

MP7 modding

The weapon's customers are military forces. It is not sold to civilians. This is reflected in the very limited modding parts available. All weapon-specific parts are HK-produced. The rail systems on the top of the receiver and sides offer standard mountings for tactical devices and optics.

MP7 summary

The MP7 is a PDW that was created to provide armor-piercing capability at low recoil and a high firerate. While the rounds do less damage than assault rifle ammo or submachinegun ammo, the firerate makes up for the deficiency. If the target is close enough to make practical use of the high firerate.

On extended ranges, out of reach of concentrated automatic fire, the MP7 loses out against assault rifles and battle rifles. Because single aimed hits carry less damage.

The most dangerous close combat weapon in EFT. If the shooter can afford the high ammo cost.
