In this guide we will examine what EFT offers for night time combat.   What is nighttime? First let's define what nighttime is in EFT. I would define it as the time in which the use of flashlights and night-vision equipment has a tactical advantage over not using it. The edge of dawn and dusk times can be narrowed down to the following:   21:30 is the time of day where dusk transitions into night time.  05:00 is the time of day where dawn transitions into morning. The passing of time Time in EFT passes approximately 5.5 times faster than in real life. This equals to one ingame hour as 12-15 minutes real time. This is important to keep in mind when preparing for a night mission. If you plan to spend 30 minutes in a map, appoximately 2.5 ingame hours will pass. Stocks Stocks create the contact point between the weapon and shooter's body. It it is the most influental weapon part for recoil reduction. The stock causes 30-45% of the recoil reduction of a weapon. The folding of a stock's primary function is to save space when stashing the weapon. A secondary purpose is for it to make the weapon more maneuverable in tight spaces.   Stock configuration can stack up to four item slots: Stock adapter Buffer tube Stock Recoil pad   Stock types Fixed stocks The most common type of stock. These are non-adjustable, non-foldable.   Foldable stocks The handling of rifles inside vehicles, aircraft, while parachuting, operating machines, made a flaw in the weapon apparent: A long firearm gets in the way in tight spaces. A more portable automatic weapon than machineguns, which were heavy and impractical to carry. World-War 2 was the first large conflict where smgs were issued in large quantities.      Why use submachineguns? Extends range of pistol ammo The basic take-away for submachineguns: What a pistol can do at 30 meters, the submachinegun can do at 100 meters. Superior to pistols Shooting the same ammo as pistols, it can outrange them with higher muzzle velocity and accuracy. Cheap automatic firepower Smgs are the weapons with the highest rate of fire. Low recoil Low-powered ammo + heavier mass than pistols = easy shooting and low recoil.
