In this guide we will examine what EFT offers for night time combat.   What is nighttime? First let's define what nighttime is in EFT. I would define it as the time in which the use of flashlights and night-vision equipment has a tactical advantage over not using it. The edge of dawn and dusk times can be narrowed down to the following:   21:30 is the time of day where dusk transitions into night time.  05:00 is the time of day where dawn transitions into morning. The passing of time Time in EFT passes approximately 5.5 times faster than in real life. This equals to one ingame hour as 12-15 minutes real time. This is important to keep in mind when preparing for a night mission. If you plan to spend 30 minutes in a map, appoximately 2.5 ingame hours will pass.   Tarkov SMG Guide (last updated January 4th 2021)   Submachineguns The concept of submachineguns ('smg') dates back to World War 1. A more portable automatic weapon than machineguns, which were heavy and impractical to carry. World-War 2 was the first large conflict where smgs were issued in large quantities.      Why use submachineguns? Extends range of pistol ammo The basic take-away for submachineguns: What a pistol can do at 30 meters, the submachinegun can do at 100 meters. Superior to pistols Shooting the same ammo as pistols, it can outrange them with higher muzzle velocity and accuracy. Cheap automatic firepower Smgs are the weapons with the highest rate of fire. Low recoil Low-powered ammo + heavier mass than pistols = easy shooting and low recoil.         Tarkov Pistol Guide New and improved for 2021! (last updated January 1st 2021) Pistols are versatile, compact weapons. They have their own slot on the character inventory. The main strengths of pistols are their small size and light weight. They are easy to use and are effective at up to 50 meters. At distances to 100 meters, their limited accuracy can still provide hits on a target, however specific areas on a target or headshots become increasingly difficult. Pistols don't require much consideration beyond point and shoot. However they are inferior to other weapon types when caught in a firefight within the optimal range of the opposing force's weapon.   Why use pistols? Very fast ADS Pistols can be raised to an aiming position very quickly. For pistoleros A pistol as a primary use weapon is moderately effective if the shooter can avoid getting caught in a bad environment for pistols (long range, hard cover, close range against automatic weapons
